The Bob Creek State Wayside parking lot is small with space just enough for 9 cars and it has a tendency to fill up quickly. Please, stick to surface collecting of minerals, avoid shell middens, and don't use digging equipment as per the local ranger's recommendation. When you go beachcombing to Bob Creek Wayside, keep in mind there is a shell midden area there that is an archeological site protected by law. The southern section is sandy with huge boulders and caves. The northern part of the beach where the creek enters the ocean is stone and gravel.
